thanks for the correction with the accents, Oliver. or replacing the caps lock key, I used key <CAPS> { [ ISO_Level3_Shift, ISO_Level3_Shift, Caps_Lock ] }; this solution makes the 'caps lock' function still availiable with right-alt-gr and caps-lock pressed. i like more the solution with the .xmodm...

on Kubuntu 9.04 there was another update,
like in 8.10 simply the same steps must be done again: just add a section for entikey in all 3 files again
and in
/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/de
and add the entikey block at the end again.
